Originally drafted by the Mariners and was known then as David Arias.

Traded to the Twins for Dave Hollins in 1996. He played with the Twins until 2002, when they non-tendered him after the 2002 season - fearing he would get a big raise in arbitration.

He then signed with the Red Sox and has been the heart and soul of their line-up since.

Jacoby Ellsbury, centerfielder for my favorite team, the Boston Red Sox! He's the most exciting player in the Red Sox system since Nomar Garciaparra. I love the way he plays with all his heart and hustles and has great skills. Jacoby is also the first Navajo Indian in Major League Baseball. I think that's a great feat, no matter what color barrier is broken.
