I don't know what you think. For me it is unfair. I'm a woman, I am against abusive men but using a decoy to tempt these men into doing something bad, most probably beyond their normal is cheating. It's fabrication, it is not right. Many of these guys haven't done such thing in the past. Human is weak. We're all trying hard to be "good ". It is our nature as humans that we cannot get away from. The id, ego, and the superego. It would take someone to be "saintly" to get away from temptations pushed into his mouth. Sadly, we are all not wise. Our characters is strongly predetermined by genetic traits. If it is environment that makes us, then we're not in control either to choose our parents or people who affect our growing years. We are all struggling to get away from that part of ourselves that is weak and evil. We are all "cloaked" by essence, challenging this struggle of human nature to be good, tempting him to be a bad person deliberately to prove that he is naturally bad isn't fair

Fay and Bottle, I get annoyed by people like you who form opinions out of context...getting it to the personal level. For the rest of you, good objective thinking.

If it wasn't something they were going to do anyway, I'd agree.

But the decoys weren't wagging their skinny school uniform skirt covered butts in these guy's faces. They didn't come on strong and overcome the men's resistance. They acted like normal troubled teens, curious and vulnerable.

Being vulnerable isn't incitement to commit a crime. And looking vulnerable is not entrapment.

These men were cruising chatrooms for underage girls and boys. If they hadn't found the decoys, they would have found real ones to molest. They aren't victims, they are predators who walked into a trap.

It never hurts to let the snakes know that sometimes the small, trapped furry thing is a mongoose. It discourages the ones who haven't given up their humanity.

It sounds like either a man close you has been caught in a sting and you are in denial and trying to make excuses for their actions...there are none.

The sting operations are set up as such that only a profile of a young teen between the ages of 11-14 posts a profile indicating they are that age with age appropriate interest about them and a picture of a person that age or a very young looking decoy. The decoy is only allowed to go into a chat room that someone their age is to go into. They are not allowed to intiate a private conversation, only the other party. They are never allowed to intiate a conversation about sex..only the other party can bring that up. Once they do, the decoy can show age appropriate interest.

Just because these men have not been caught before does not mean they are not a threat to society.

To learn more about the process and see some transcripts of these sickos, is go to www.pervertedjustice.com...read the transcripts of some of these offenders (many which send pictures of themselves naked or jerking off).

and what would happen if he was chatting with a 13 yr old girl who wasnt a decoy.. and went to her house, and did god knows what to her.... what if it was your child??? i think dateline did a great thing by at least catching some of these perverts.. also it makes parents a little more aware of whats going on in the online world.

bottom line all those men were online LOOKING for a young teenager to have sex with.. decoy or not!!

A decoy? They chatted online with what they believed to be 11-13 year old girls and boys, and followed through with their intent to have sex by coming to their house, sometimes with condoms/alcohol etc. These people knowingly and willingly went into a chatroom and upon discovering the person's age, continued to act on it.

I fail to see how it's anyone but their fault for their own actions.
