The Cron command is a timed command. you set items to happen on a recurring basis and then using cron they will run.

There simply is way to much to cron to explain here.

You create a domain name by registrering one with a REGISTRAR. Like Networksolutions (expensive), Aitdomains, Domains410 etc.

Once you have a registered domain you can create a server for it and call the server anything you like
server1.mydomain.com (assuming you registrered "mydomain.com")

If the server is just for "LOCAL" use you can make up any domain name and just use it. It goes in several files depending on your distribution of linux.

Domain names are created by registering them with internic. The cron command is a command to automaticly run programs at specified times.

Type "man cron " for more information
