A timing chain kit is approximately $120 depending on where you buy it. Why are you chaning the lifters? Are they clattering or tapping? Lifters do go out but I would not recommend changing them unless it's absolutely necessary. If these lifters are overhead they're relatively easy to change, however changing lifters on some motors can create other problems such as making the cam go out prematurely. Lifters for that engine would probably run about $300.

OH NO! by the time lifters make noise and timing chain wears out the camshaft and engine bearings are not far behind. 3.4 liter V-6 engines are not that expensive complete low miles wrecks all over the place save time and money get a whole motor and drop it in.
