I do that.
Here's why: I wanted to ask that question myself - I don't have an answer but I'm glad someone else asked.
Or, I like the way the question was phrased. Or, Someone else has already answered with my answer, but I think its a good question.
I don't see why you'd have a problem with that.

It shouldn't bother you. If everyone stars for the same reason that I do then you should be flattered. I will star if it is interesting or if I want some of my contacts to know it is interesting. Sometimes I just do not have a good answer and don't want to waste peoples time on "fluff" but would like to see how the asker picked a best answer.

No, it doesn't bother me. I have better things to worry about in my own life. This is only Yahoo answers, it's not like it's my job or my family. It's just a place to help others out. Maybe people only star the answers because they DON'T know the answer. Some people have the same quest. they need answered as other people ask.

I do this sometimes if the question is an especially good one and someone has already given an answer that is pretty close to what I would have answered. I will just star the question and thumbs up the answer. No point in posting repetitious answers.

Excuuuuuuuse me. Gosh Bill, I did intend to
answer but I forgot. I forgot what else I forgot.
It really is a show of laziness I suppose.
Shame, shame on anyone else who stars a
question and does'nt answer. The reason I
forgot was I was about to go on a fox hunt and
was in a hurry.

Yeah. each and each of the time. There are questions that i think of are hilarious yet i understand I won't have the skill to get top so I purely great call them. Then i circulate lower back and study what everybody else wrote.

I do it, because I think it's a good question and I don't know the answer. I know I could put it in my watch list, but it's easier to star.
Also some of my contacts might like the question

Maybe you want to see the answer to a question but not have what you consider valid imput to give. Hence star but no answer.
