If I know someone for years, I wont have to explain myself over and over. By then they will understand me. If I do have to, well then there is a problem....they don't understand me, and don't know me well enough. So I will stop explaining myself to them.

Oh, yeah. It' totally exhausting ! It seems ypu have become the other person's enemy because they don't think like you. They want you to think like them. Then comes the barrier. Not getting along. The silence. Exhausting !

Sometimes hubby makes me feel like I have to explain myself. I hate that... even when he already knows the answer.

I won't do it. I don't OWE anyone an explanation.
I am an adult though. It was different when I lived with my parents. They have a right to ask and be answered.

Yes I HATE it. Happens to me recently and I can only imagine that he person doesn't really know me. Sad for them!

yes. Especially my little sister. She won't stop asking me questions, even if I've already answered them. She repeats her answers 3 times, and asks like I can't hear very well...BY YELLING!! It pisses me off!!
She has selective hearing and comprehension skills in my opinion.

If it has to clear misconceptions about myself..I have to patiently explain my side..So, I guess, it helps a lot.
