I'm not sure exactly what you mean. You may be referring to Eris, the dwarf planet. The discovery of this body, the largest object known to be orbiting the Sun apart from the eight planets, is what led to the definition of dwarf planets as planet-like objects oribiting the Sun but not dominating their regions of space.

You might also be referring to any number of extrasolar planets, which are planets orbiting stars other than the Sun. One in particular, Gliese 581 c, was discovered in 2007 and is considered to be the most Earth-like extrasolar planet discovered thus far.

There is no new planet, unless your'e talking polarai Pluto was removed.
