Hasn't everyone? I keep mine as a show of good faith (it's supposed to be the thought that counts) until I get sick and tired of it, then sell it at a yard sale. That way I can buy myself something that I actually like.

I got an old cowboy spur that was all beat up and rusty from a friend who knows I like history... I have a lot of history books but I never collect any relics and have no display case or anything... what am I going to do with a spur??? Actually it wasn't that old, from like the 20th century.. I was like thinking I hope you didn't spend a lot on this...

all the time b/c most ppl dont get me or take the time to know what i like when buying the gift(s). eventually i just told everyone to give me money cause i'd be able to make better use of it. only 2 or 3 ppl in my life can actually buy me gifts i like.

Yes, unfortunately. My uncle got me a dentist barbie for my 10th birthday and I hated it and still do.
For a start I wasn't a girly girl and had never played with barbies which he knew
2nd it was like 3 weeks late
3rd it made noise! "let's brush buzzzzzz" and the brush noise sounded more like a flippin drill!! It put me off the dentist for ages!

Yes and I hate that. Not for the obvious reason though, I am a terrible liar and I am afraid if the person realizes I do not like it I will hurt their feelings.
Overly sensitive person... most definitely.

yes I have. I gave my husband (now ex) a list before Christmas one yr. because he said he didn't know what to get me and asked for some ideas. It didn't work cuz he got me a Dust Buster that year. It wasn't on the list. What woman wants a Dust Buster for Christmas!! Then he used it and broke it!

the question should be have you ever received a gift you did like.....and in that case my answer would be noooo....I am way too picky and the things i get frm family anfd friends give me the idea that they dont know me very well

I once got a gift card for a seafood restaurant. I am allergic to fish! Do you think they were trying to kill me?? I did not enjoy that gift.

Yes i have many times. I just re gift them.As long as you don't give it back to the person who gave it to you.
