Yes, we're really this stupid. It's a sad commentary on the outrageously poor education system we have in America combined with a steady diet of our U.S. government's distortions, propaganda, lies and deceit perpetrated on American citizens by the government's partner-in-crime: the conservative-biased media.
Face it: the more we can be 'dumbed-down', the more the government can control us and do whatever it damn well pleases. As Adolph Hitler once said:

Yes, there are ignorant people all over the world and the U.S. is no exception. If you ask enough people, you will find them. It illustrates why people should have to pass a test before voting in a presidential election.
