I'm in the US , but this would apply almost universally . An expiration date on all laws . That way spur-of-the moment foolishness would have to be periodically re-examined , and wouldn't be in the default position of being "the- law- until- somebody- changes- it." . The expiration date would be an odd-number, so that not everything falls in an election year(here) . More likely to get meaningful debate, and less grandstanding . For you? - ????? ( Where are you, btw? )

I noticed that someone on here reckons we should pass Sarah's Law...if you'd bothered keeping up with events in the US, you'd know that the American equivalent, Megan's Law, has been an unmitigated disaster.....all it's done is drive the offenders 'underground', where the authorities cannot keep track of them....
As for me, I'd pass a law banning the sale, possession and consumption of all these "super strength" lagers and ciders.....

Not many laws passed before 1980 are still going. Most have been scrapped or have been reformed and changed.

child abusers should die its so true, and they do as do all of us. There's one on every street. But I would like to see a bill saying we have total freedom for the next twelve months to prove we can make it work or to prove what a ash we'd make of it.

Id set up an anti-authoritarian society based on parecon, (participatory economics). But failing that, I would leagalise all soft drugs.
