No. There's "prejudice" in everybody, not "racism". Prejudice means just what it says;to "pre-judge", we ALL do that whether we want to admit it or not. Racism is not just pre-judging based on race, but actually "hating" and deeming yourself and your race superior. Prejudice is a natural human trait that we will NEVER shake, but racism is in my opinion this countries most evil entity.

I don't believe that there's a racist in everybody, I believe that there's some kind of ignorance in everybody. The only reason that there are racists is because of ignorance and stupidity (mostly ignorance)
No one can be 0% ignorant. There are people that are .000000000001% ignorant, but never 0%.
So, I don't think that there's a racist in everyone, but more of ignorance. Ok, some people have some racism in them because of how a certain race always treats them or treats others, but it's usually not something foolish like the people on here that keep on saying stuff at black people for no reason.
I hope I didn't confuse you. ^^;;

Yeah I agree. Unless a person has lived in a cave for their entire life there will be an element of racism in us all.

This is not our fault it's due to media figures and modern day fashion. For example, if a white guy murders a woman, it may be on page 5 in the newspaper. If a pakistani guy murders a woman it will be on the front page and highly publicised.

We're also taught to think a certain way due to society. The more racist jokes we hear the more we subconsciously agree with them, because humour = happiness.

I certainly don't want to think like this and deep down believe we are equals, this is just an awful truth.

Main Entry: rac·ism
Pronunciation: 'rA-"si-z&m also -"shi-
Function: noun
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

My answer is no. I don't even believe the definition. The last part of the definition kills it because it includes superiority as part of racism. I do believe that race determines certain traits and capacities however. I think that as fact more than racist.

Actually, I would say that the latter part of the definition IS really what being racist is all about.

"Racist" is a very loose term that is used by those who have no valid argument to support their position. For example, those who support securing our borders have been called racist by those advocating and supporting illegal immigration. Most of the time the term 'racist' is used inaccurately as a form of intimidation more than anything else.

im not a racist as in i dont think someones skin color matters in the slightest.
however, i don't like the way some countries act but again, you cannot tar them all with the same brush.
it also annoys me when people move to my country and take all the jobs, and push up taxes etc, but again, i dont like whats going on, not the actual person. its more of our governments fault for letting them in. All the mcdonalds in our area are run by polish people!!

I believe that the beliefs of our parents are in us. We are not born to hate. We are not born racists. Even if you get out from under the family umbrella of racism you may have grown up under, it's there, buried. Some actively fight it. Others don't know it's there until it explodes from them (ie Michael Richards).

No. I don't think you understand the definition of racist. I think you mean bigot.....and even then I wouldn't think that there is a bigot in everyone. But, there are enough ignorant people to make it seem that way.

I do believe so as well. As much as alot of people hate to admit it I think there is. It could be towards someone who looks like someone you don't like or towards someone who is not from your country. We all do have a little hate in is. It is a natural thing,
