It needs an engine rebuild, suspension work, interior, paint, etc. I live in Ventura County (California). Do you know of any good shops that specialize in classic restorations for things I can't do myself? Thanks!

Pick up a restore book on that car, or just ask anyone how has done it.

It's not easy despite what people tell you, alone I spent some $400+ on just bolts for my 72 GTO. Add in anything rubber, anything that has a grease fitting and anything made of cloth! Add the machine work to press in ball joints, bushing. One off bolts you have to get form a restore place, like in GM steering joint to steering wheel bolt ,you guys know the one with the half "U" taken out.

Engine parts, body parts, hidden rust, carpet, trying to get the dam-ed screws back in the original holes on the interior panels.

Cleaners, rags, tools, a place to do it, fluids, and once you take one thing apart you find another thing to take apart.

However the first day you dire the car to get it inspected after doing all of the work, well it's a feeling you cant get from anything else.

It was worth it, however I hope you have a good income, you will need it.

Good Luck,

P.S. If you really want to do this write me and I will give you an inside track.

I'm not sure there is a one stop shop even in Cali.

I assume the car is in decent shape - body wise I mean.

You couls spend a lot of money on this or just a little and still have a nice street machine.

Check out the links, they have info to get ya going.

YOU CAN DO ONE OF TWO THINGS,

1. GO AND SEE CHIP AT OVERHAULING.

2. SUBMIT YOUR VEHICLE TO OVERHAULING.
