Then of course we did not mention it to our insurance company. I don't think you need to report that.

We have it fenced in and the ladder is removed daily.

As an previous answer stated fence it properly. Check the local codes concerning swimmings. They usually require at least a 1 1/2 inch mesh chain link fence - height varies form area to area. Most area also require a self closing and self latching child proof gate with the same specs of the fence.

Signs may be required in some areas.

Probably will. Kids and animals are attracted to pools thus causing insurance companies to panic.
