I have a project to work on, and i want something fresh. It may have the usual stuff like decorations and pictures, but i'd prefer something else than just a notebook-like scrapbook you flip so it'd look more original. Maybe a box-shaped one or what? I need ideas!

I had read your question earlier, but didn't have any ideas! But then, I was looking for some inspiration, and what-do-you-know? There are some great ideas!!!

I found another one that looks neat:

and an idea for a night-light:

I hope you're getting inspired, now! =0)

OK, you must really be on my mind lately, or we're looking for the same thing. . . I don't know! But, have you seen the "altered art" type stuff? Here's another idea: an altered Rolodex!

Okay, I have an idea for you, but don't ask me how to pronounce it! LOL, it's an icosahedron! It's a paper sphere! You use 20 circles, the same size, and crease a perfect triangle in each one going to the edges. Make 1/2 of them with the point at the top of the picture, the other 1/2 with the point at the bottom. On the top of the sphere you will use 5 of them, all point up pictures. Put the folded edges together and staple or glue so you have what looks like a 1/2 dome. The next row is trickier, using a point down picture, attach it to one of the top row (dome) pictures. Next to that, use a point up picture, just attaching to the side. Then use a point down picture attaching to the side point down and the dome above. Continue all the way around using 10 of them alternating point up and down pics. You should be left with 5 point down pictures now. Attach them the same way as how you made the dome that was the top. Voila! A sphere or icosahedron! You can hang the ball with a string. We make these out of Christmas cards every year as ornaments and to keep the kids busy! LOL, they are a lot easier than they sound, my 5 year old can make them! I think I saw them on HGTV years ago or something, here is a link for something very similar, http://www.mccallsquilting.com/curiss/wb1204_ornaments/

Have fun!

Go to a used book store and buy a thick THICK old book. Glue some pages together to make them thick and cut holes in them and scrapbook in an old book.

How about an old metal lunch box and make like an accordinan/file folder type insertion that you can glue the last page to the back of the lunch box. So when you open the lid the filefolder/accordian type pages fall out.

Good luck!!! =)

How about doing your project on a deck of cards? You can use the 'plain' side to adhere your pictures and stuff, and let the playing card part be exposed (or vice versa). If you have larger memorabilia just scan it and print it so it fits. Best of all you can easily store the whole thing in the card case.

How about one made with brown paper bags? I think the owner of this site has some great non-typical scrapbooking ideas.
