Where I live (small town in Indiana) and many other states, people are real, healthcare is taken care of for the poor, violent crime is not that common and it usually occurs when welfare forces those who don't really qualify, to move to these smaller towns and then we see an increase in violence. We have great community involvement with our schools, improving our arts, libraries, and our farmer's market is impressive considering the size. You can't make assumations, based on a place like Hollywood (which I've spent time in and while itwas dirty, it was a helluva good time) and think you know America.

Nobody promised to you that real America is exactly like shown in the movies or on TV.It is the largest functional democracy in the world. Those 50 different countries you mention are the best example of unity in diversity. As far as poverty, crime, mass un employment and other short comings are concerned,I think you have no idea how things are in other countries, specially third world.Cool down, have a re look, dig up data on relevant aspects and then come out with specific issues and not in a generalized manner.Yes,you are not only being unfair but also exhibiting your gross ignorance on this matter.May be you were angry or something.Just one last thing,I AM NOT AN AMERICAN but an admirer of that country and it's citizens. The world is a much safer place as long as a country like America has a say in the international affairs.

ah but you dont see the things i see my friend a young country that broke all the rules and now every other country tries to keep up a country that most armies will not invade be cause they are just as afraid of the civilians as the military a country that is like a family we fight with ourself but you outside best leave us alone where you can look a run down town and think nothing will come out of it good and a star or president rises from the ashes
that is the beauty that you dont see and unless you live here and been here you will never understand

The Bible is a compilation of letters written up till the first century CE. The new testament letters are addressed to certain people living at the time it was written, telling them about THEIR immediate future. It is our folly when we believe they are directly written to us 20 centuries later, telling us about OUR future. The purpose of Scripture is to explain how God completed salvation history, His character, our problem, the solution. It's not to be used to divine our future, or to be interpreted through today's American or other national news. In Luke 21:20-22, Jesus tells His followers, (not us) "When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. Because these are the days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled." For those who know history, it is evident that all this was fulfilled in 70CE at the end of the Roman Jewish War, Neronic persecution and Tribulation. Many people say Jesus wasn't God because He predicted His return to be "soon, at hand, in a little while, near," etc. and didn't return. But many Christians understand now that He did return, exactly when He said He would. It was a local judgment, not a planetary end. It abolished the Old Covenant order, at the end of the age of Judaism. His Kingdom is present here, and it's spiritual, therefore many don't perceive it: "He answered them and said, 'The kingdom of God does not come with observation. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." - Luke 17:20-21

Where's the UK we see in the movies huh? Where are the castles and the moats and the dragons. Where are the knights in shining armor and the fair maids in distress? Where is Mary Poppins and the Queen of Hearts? Where is The Shire located exactly? Where is that UK?

I'm American and I agree, LA as a whole is incredibly overcrowded and polluted.
Go to New York or Las Vegas.

Have you been to the US? Your opinion sounds like an ignorant, uninformed one to me.
I've been to the UK and enjoyed it greatly, it is not that different from the US.
