The distributive property on the Right side of the equation

4 - 5x < 2x + 8

Transpose 5x

4 - 5x < 2x + 8 + 5x

colledting like terms on the right side of the equation

4 < 7x + 8

Transpose 8

4 - 8 < 7x + 8 - 8

- 4 < 7x

Divide both sides of the eqution by 7

- 4 / 7 < 7x / 7

- 4 / 7 < x
