...to meet America's first lady? Why, why, why? Incidently she's not going to meet him though. Give me one good reason why he should want to go to the Whitehouse?

And seeing as he knows he is being photographed why isn't he wearing a tee-shirt whith Madeleine's picture on it? He is going to be in the newspapers - I thought the whole aim was to spread the news about Maddy?

He also wants to bleed the American media and the American people dry.

EDIT:
I think Gerry McCann is a whitewash himself.

Simply to make himself known, with the view to extending
to celebrity status.
The Oxford Dictionary refers to it as seriously, "Gerrymander ".It means literally to manipulate a situation etc to gain advantage.
Referring to comment made by JB above, it can also be spelt
"Jerrymander".
Personally, the difference between Gerry & Jerry, as far as I am aware is that the latter is kept under the bed for p***ing in !

I also read that Laura Bush had refused his request to meet him, maybe she's smarter than given credit for. Gerry is full of his own self importance, poor Madeleine, she's long been forgotten on his round-the-world trip.

He is doing this for fame and fortune. The next thing he will be doing is writing a novel and making a DVD about his world tour.

This has me lost, travelling to Germany I could understand and we know why he went to Holland, to meet old friends and talk about him.

America - do they hold the key to Madeleine disappearance?????? Who and why has he been invited????? Who knows and why is he on his own??? perhaps the Americans going to award him for neglect and abandonment of his family??? They have done worse things!!!

Keep it up Gerry your doing more damage to both yourself and your family's tarnished reputation!!!!

i agree with rich t and in addition, it is to further pump up his feelings of self importance. He seems to think he is some sort of representative for organisations dealing with child protection, whereas in fact, he is a representative of people who should be investigated for child protection.
