Get rid of the accumulated junk but have a look at tit first. If you can not remember whar it means dump it now. Does it have great sentimental value think again but be ruthless and when you have decided to keep some have another look.
Label your boxes as to what is in them even if ir s just a list in the box. Decide where you want each box in the house when you get there.
We neither did a label and our decisions as to where each box whent awry due to circumstances under the control of the vendor.
You wil find if yoy do this it can actually be hard work but not unpleasent.
Above all remember where you put the kettle.
Here is a story
Due to circumstances beyond dy control I found I was taking a group of young people away for the weekend the day we moved.
I arrived back at me new house on Sunday evening to find my wife on the doorstep with her arms folded and a chin somewhere round her kneecaps. "Methinks I'm in trouble thought I." The car door was opened, "'ello luv!" said I. The reply was "Don't you dare tell me what rotten facilities you had on your B-----Y campsite, youi have had better facilities than i have!" She took a deep breath and started first with," i still havn't found the b----y kettle, the drain for the washing machine is blocked with cement and the lavatory not working propely." It went on with no pause for breath and I looked on in wonder, struggling to keep my face straight. It really was a master class performance. I had indeed to admit that I had had better facilities at camp I then found the ketttle.
The moral of this story is don't lose your kettel or someone will lose their rag

Stay organised. Staying organised can't be emphasised enough when it comes to important moving tips for relocating.
There is no amount of planning that can prepare you for unexpected issues that arise on your moving day, but you can prepare for a comfortable move by packing and organising your belongings in advance.
Also, by taking an inventory of all possessions, scheduling your moving truck two weeks prior to your move and planning where your furniture will go in your new home.
Gather packing supplies far in advance. There's nothing worse than scrambling at the last minute for boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape to pack up the last of your belongings.
One of the most important moving tips to remember, is to gather new or used boxes, bubble wrap or butcher paper, packing tape, and a permanent marker 4 to 6 weeks prior to relocation.
Label all boxes clearly. Make sure that all boxes are labelled clearly with their contents. You can take it a step further by using colour coding to organise where boxes will go in your new home.
As an example, label all boxes in red for the kitchen, blue for bedrooms, and green for bathrooms. This will make it easy and efficient for movers to unload your belongings. So the quicker that your movers work, the chances are you will have to pay less in total moving expenses.
Have extra cash on hand. It is wise to have extra cash on hand in case some type of minor emergency occurs.
This could include for example plumbing issues in your new home, movers having to charge more than what was originally estimated, or having to stay in a hotel overnight while traveling.
Be prepared by keeping extra cash with you throughout your house move.

firstly, its not stressful, its an opportunity to get rid of all ur shite u have accumulated. top tip is this: think of ur new place as room numbers. every box u pack, every single item u pack, needs to be packed where u want it unpacked..ie living room kitchen.etc...label the bedrooms in ur new house 1 as the largest 2 as the next largest, etc..im in my 12th house now and most of the stress is the unpacking, and u can spend days running around putting things in the right places. if u have hired someone to move u, either get boxes and packing tape off them and pack urself, or wait and get them to do it...that way everything they pack will be covered in their insurance, not urs

Get plenty of sturdy boxes/tape and newspaper.... Also get a good marking pen a SHARPIE and label each box to the room it will go in....
If you have friends/family helping you can designate someone to help sort and box/label keep items
maybe store these items in the garage away from everything...Or a room you aren't using...
Go room to room with boxes and sort DONATE,KEEP and TRASH... *rule of thumb if you haven't used it in a year.. DONATE/TRASH
If you work room by room you can minimize a jumbled mess.. Just take a heavy duty trashcan with a contractor trash bag inside and start in one corner and work your way out of the room.. Good luck
Sort through everything that you can... DONATE,TOSS,KEEP..
Maybe have someone take donate things away so you can have room.... We put all our KEEP things in rubbermaid storage bins and labeled, they are nice/neat in our basement.
