Spent it on commiting autrocities and the slaughter of all that oppose them? I mean they are hated either way so why not just slog off the mILLIONS OF Mutants dragging themselves throught the deserts to worship camel dung?

Best idea in a long time. I always thought that before invading Iraq all their cities should have gotten the Dresden treatment or the Hiroshima treatment.

This is probably the most schizophrenic question I've read so far. Yes we've spent billions to develop weapons to minimize
casualties, then we're called "bloodthirsty". I don't know about worshiping camel dung but what I see the stupid human race do and say on a daily basis makes me not dismiss anything and millions are going to die before this is over, the question is do we have the will and guts and brains to make it them instead of us?, and from what I keep hearing and reading here and other places I say no.

surgical Strike weapons are used to also help minimize bad press, even though a lot of the world hates us. If we bombed the hoo hah out of them, we may turn the entire world against us, not only socially, but militarily.
surgical Strike weapons are more precise and can be more effective. They also really mess with insurgent minds and Psychs.

Integrity, responsibility, love of civilian lives (even those not American), respect for freedom, honor.
WE're going to get grief either way. President Bush (and before, President Clinton) did many things that made their own parties hate them because they knew it was the right thing to do. Bless our Presidents for their willingness to sacrifice their image for our country in the maelstrom of ignorant and hateful political bigotry.
We still need to do it.
