The benefits for adult circumcision is are prevalent. I was circumcised as an adult and I can testify first hand that the procedure is very beneficial.

Health:
It has been proven that circumcision is more hygienic, Circumcised males are less like to to receive sexually transmitted diseases, because bacteria can survive under the forskin. In Africa circumcised males were 60% less likely to contract AIDS.

Sexual Plesure:
Some will argue that circumcision reduces the risk of sensitivity in the penis glans. I can testify first had that since I have been circumcised my sexual pleasure has increased. When i was uncircumcised sex consisted of me sliding in and out of my own forskin rather than my partner's vagina. Which put a dampter on my sexual pleasure.

Problems:
After being circumcised I never have to worry about things like Smegma, Phimosis, Paraphimosis

If your suffering from balanitus, you might get it on the NHS, or you have some how got scar tissue on your foreskin making it tight and painful you might. But considering you are going to get a ring of scar tissue further down will that actually help?
How being circumcised helps stop HIV beats me, either it makes sex so uncomfortable you don't want to do it, there fore lower your risk of infection, or you are of a religious persuasion that prevents you having sex so lowers your risk. As for helping keep it clean you mean your too lazy to wash it?
On religious grounds if god did such a good job why do you want to change it?
What greater test of your influence over your followers than you can make them do that!!

Hello friend,
If it is for any medical reasons, then it is a different case!
Otherwise why to think about it!
Is it that the almighty made a mistake which the human
hands correct it by circumcising?
If God wanted it that way then the kids would be born
circumcised!
It is not something like hair or nails, which you should cut
off when they grow.
When a kid is born, it is in the perfect shape.
Hair on the head, eyebrows, eyelids, small nails on the
fingers. Later on, when hair grow on unwanted areas,
those may need to be cut or shaved, when the nails grow longer, they need to be cut.
Otherwise all other parts of our body have roles to perform.
The foreskin also has nerves to carry blood circulation.
It works as a protection cover and enhances sensation.
If it is not for some medical reasons or for some religious
reasons, you may think twice!
There are a lot many more number of people on this planet,
non-circumcised and they dont face any problems.
All the best friend.

Isn't it amazing how the women have to get their answers in straight away, all of them being experts of course. However, putting their "advice" to one side, unless you are having real problems caused by your foreskin, I can't see any good reason why you would want to put yourself through such a painful experience other than that you can't be bothered to wash it daily. That seems to be the only real reason to have it done if there are no medical reasons ! ! !

There are no significant benefits to a circumcision. The only issue is cleanliness and if you can fully retract the foreskin to clean underneath and do this then a circumcision is only a painful and possibly dangerous procedure.

Unlke an infant, there are no circumcision devices for adults. It requires surgery, usually by a urologist or plastic surgeon. There is always the risk of infection or reaction to the anesthesia which could result in anything from delayed healing and scarring to impotence and death (due to a severe reaction to medications). I have also seen a post operative adult circumcision patient tear out some stitches due to an erection during the healing phase. This resulted in delayed healing and scarring following the subsequent infection. As you might imagine it is not the easiest area to manage and keep clean post operatively.

And please don't do like one of my patients and do it yourself at home... he was really screwed up.

If you still want to proceed seek out a reputable urologist in your area, and get the options and risk from them.

Good luck!

I don't think there really are any, except that you might be less likely to contract HIV and maybe some other STDs. This hasn't really been conclusively proven, but some studies seem to show this. However, are you really planning on having unsafe sex with infected people? Circumcision means you will still spread STDs and you can still catch diseases, even if the risk is lower, and of course you'll still be fertile, so basically it doesn't dispense of the need for safe sex. You won't have to wash under the foreskin, because you won't have one, but is it that much trouble washing it now?

I don't see why you need to get it done unless you have a problem!

Generally sensation during appears to be less for both genders with circumcision, they need more lubrication as well.

Some very superficial girls (or girls in the US used to circumcised guys) say it looks better but non-circed is the norm in Scotland and I don't think anybody would have a problem with it. Personally I think non-circed looks better and they look the same when hard.

my problem was the foreskin was too tight around the head of my penis & kept tearing & i kept getting UTIs, but i didn't want to lose my foreskin, so my surgeon did a dorsal cut (right down the middle on top) not to be graphic here, but literally laid it open, but i got to keep my foreskin & no problems since, one of the best i've ever done as an adult

It would only be of benefit if you have a very tight foreskin and it bleeds during sex.
Otherwise, no difference...Just keep under the skin clean.
