I don't think the world 'hates' Americans. I think that there is a lot of anger towards American governments and organisations because of the way they have conducted themselves in foreign affairs and in foreign business matters, especially since the end of WWll.
I think (and hope) that if most US citizens really knew what is done on the soil of other soverign nations in their name they would be horrified.
The American people, and not a secular Al Qaeda, are the ones who can change all this. The American people, if they wish, can exercise their democratic rights and live up to what they say their country stands for. The American people can hold their leaders and governments responsible as their representatives.
Unless that happens the reputation of the US will continue to decline outside the US.

The world doesnt hate Americans. Some people might, but I see most of that hatred coming from Americans themselves. If the world hates Americans so much, why did France and Germany elect pro-Bush leaders? Why are our relations with India (which holds much of the worlds populartion) the best they've ever been? Why are the only leaders that seem to really hate President Bush ruthless dictators like Chavez or the Iranian President? Do you really want dictators to like a nation dedicated to freedom and equality for all people?
A secular Al Qaeda? Not surprising some of you are thinking like that. need to organize conspiracies to destroy America. looks like prophecies are accurate.

2 part question = 2 part answer.
Don't mistake America for the regime that has been in control for the last 6 years. The USA is in the process of a political revolution and 2 years from now you will see a completely different country. Also, don't underestimate the resolve of the average American citizen. We come from all over the world and may have our internal differences & beliefs but will unite in a heartbeat if attacked (see WWII).
Al Qaeda IS secular. Do you really think they have a mosque in the mountains of Pakistan...? Do you really think their leaders believe that Allah wants them to kill in His name...?

Well said!
Just as Europe united against Nazi Germany and the USSR. The EU, China, Russia and more nations unite against the evil America.
There is a saying that Money is the root of all evil.
The US is founded upon money.
This is why they are known as the Great Satan!

The arab world is far from united, Iraq is on the brink of civil war and palistine has been split. The Neocon's have successfully divided the middle east by giving shiites control in iraq which has tipped the Sunni dominance in the Arab world. This of course has lead to a collapse of culture in Iraq which is spreading through the middle east. Goerge Bush and the Neocons are not dumb. This fiasco in Iraq has lead to a destabilised arab world which puts the US in a better position.

The only reason people hate americans is because they are in the most poorly educated, have no interest or knowledge of the outside world and are so gullible as to believe anything that is sais to them by government or tv!

Excellent argument for not leaving Iraq.
Excellent argument for why we should not listen to much of the rest of the world if they side with al-Quada, considering what they stand for.
You're dreaming (more of a nightmare). Islam doesn't support secular government. Turkey has had to crack down even now. Terrorists all over the world are being hunted down, even by Islamic countries. Russia has their own problem with Islamic terrorists as does China (Russia in particular hates al-Quada with a passion, remember their brush with bin Ladin?)
This sounds a lot like Saddam's final messages while sitting in that hole in Iraq, "We are winning! We are killing Americans by the hundreds! They are losing! We will be victorious and the Great Satan will fall!"
We're still laughing about that one after the shortest and most successful war in history. Saddam fell in record time.
Now we're in a battle with our new ally (Iraq) to fight Terrorism coming in from elsewhere.
Once again, "Oh, look America, you are losing!"
We're still laughing...

Stop knocking the USA. They are our blood-brothers and although they have their faults, they represent some of the best in western culture. When Bush leaves office, things may improve.

Well - bush is hated - that doesn't mean the the american people are hated. The american people has been decieved by Bush, and thus he has committed an offense towards the USA, by bringing the country and the people in the country in unnecessary danger.
