My boyfriend and I want to visit an unspoilt charming Greek island with beautiful beaches and one where it is possible to visit other small islands on day trips. Any recommendations?

Avoid Myconos, Santorini, and Paros, as they are overcrowded, cosmopolitan and very touristic...

Corfu on the west coast of mainland Greece. One and a half hour trip from it .
Access by boat from Venice,Ancona, Bari or Brindisi Italy.
By air direct flights from many European airports.
Direct everyday to Paxos, Lefkada, Zante and many other places on mainland and islands by hydroplane.
Beaches of varied beauty and texture. Green abundance almost to the total of the island.
Old city of Kerkyra with two Venetian fortresses, characteristic old buildings and enormous historical background.
