Jehovah's Witnesses are diligent students of the bible. A typical Witness is well-aware that the bible seems to preclude another global deluge.
(Genesis 9:12-15) God added: “This is the sign... My rainbow I do give in the cloud, and it must serve as a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. ...no more will the waters become a deluge to bring all flesh to ruin.

As a JW i can tell you now - floods and rain does not mean the end of the world.
The signs in the bible for the last days are Wars ("nation will rise against nation") "earthquakes in one place after another" pestilence and famine!
The bible also has a list that signifies how to recognise the last days some include "men will lovers of money, blashempers, puffed up with pride, disobedient to parents, having no natural affection, lovers of pelasures rather than lovers of god... the list goes on.

According to the JW's own , admitted rather **** over tip, theology, god is not going to flood the world again, next time it will be with fire and the sword! And don't forget the Witnesses have been predicting the end for well over a hundred years now. They said 1899, 1901. 1914, 1922, 1926, 1975...! (They deny this, but it's all in their old publications!)
No, it's just because it rained on St Swithen's day!

God is preventing a water shortage and a hose pipe ban which both are common at this time of year. He is also keeping our pastures green by watering our garden here on planet Earth. Only the devil thinks like your question.

A flood would just seem so old hat, and I'm sure God would come up with something a little more permanent and original like nuclear armageddon.

Please point your friend to the Book of Genesis. After the flood, God sends Noah a dove as a promise that he will never again flood the world. Or something along those lines.
Hepromises not to do it anyway.
TO the guy below me: Thanks for poitning out the verse I was referring to - It was a rainbow not a dove!

god wouldn't flood the world again even if he was real. there are way too many problems to be fixed and flooding the world isn't going to solve them

It's been Sunny outside all day and has been dry for over 36 hours in the Lothians.
...So no, it's not the end of days, but tell your friend, if they believe it, to go and stand outside and wait for the Ascension.
