These sound like mosquito larvae, and they're fine to feed your fish. I'll have to warn you though, most fish don't know what to make of food that wiggles in their mouths at first, so they might spit them back out in surprise! They will eat them though, and once they figure out that they can, they might want them more often!

(I gave some from my rain barrel to some of my fish a few days ago.)

Here's a photo of mosquito larvae hanging from the surface of some water to breathe: http://www.arbovirus.health.nsw.gov.au/mosquit/photos/oc_camp_larvae_group.jpg Some types can be light colored like these, while others can be brown or grayish. There's another type of insect larvae that's also good for your fish that are red - they're called bloodworms, and these are collected and frozen and are sold as fish food in pet stores.

At this time of year most likely mosquito larvae, which will stay still, looking dead hanging upside down from the surface of the water until you tap the water or something. I have given you a link for pictures of some large tadpoles in somebody's pond, remember tadpoles can be a lot smaller than they are in the picture provided. I definitely would not feed tadpoles to my fish, but if they are mosquito larvae, then it should be fine. Check again, and if there are bloodworms in the water, then you can feed those to your fish too.

those are mosquito larvae. if the water is from rain water, it's safe to assume there's no other parasites in the water. many types of fish relish mosquito larvae, especially guppies and bettas. however, if u don't plan to feed them to ur fish, i'd suggest disposing of them quickly or you'll contribute to the mosquito problem in your area.

They are probably mosquito larvae. They will turn into mosquitoes soon if they are allowed to remain. There are fish which eat them. I don't know a lot about fish but I don't think they would be harmful to any.

Probably mosquito larvae ('wrigglers'). They should be absolutely fine to feed to your fish.
