Looking for Performing Arts schools that offer MFA's in Cali, preferably in the LA area or not too far from there. Also looking for schools that offer MFA's in creative writing in LA area.

There are all sorts. UCLA, USC, for theater there is none finer than the Pasadena Playhouse. Most of the Cal States offer courses.

The top schools in LA are UCLA and USC, but if you are willing to go further afield, UCSD and UCI are probably the best. The Cal State programs are strong, especially Fullerton and Long Beach, but overall your best bets are the UCs. The other truly significant mention goes to CalArts in Valencia. All of these programs have tough admissions standards, so be ready and prepare your resume/CV and audition/portfolio well..
Can't say much for creative writing, but I do know that most of the schools I've mentioned above have programs in that discipline.
