Anyone considering a surgery (for any reason) should get a second opinion.

Treatment options for varicocele include surgical repair, percutaneous venographic occlusion, and laparoscopy. A subinguinal microscopic surgical repair is advocated by many urologists as the current treatment of choice because of the thoroughness of the ligation, minimal recurrence and complication rate, and short post-operative recovery period. Despite an occasional study suggesting that varicocelectomy does not improve fertility, the preponderance of literature reports support varicocele correction.

In other words, non treated it is believed can cause infertility, but not everyone with varicoceles is infertile. They do believe that surgery corrects the problem, but occassionally does not.

man i think i go that right now, there's a big fatty vain goin into my left testicle. it doesn't hurt though. i read that wearing a jock strap or any tight undwear can help treat it. i've been wearing some tight under armor compression shorts for the last two days and it seems to be getting alot better. the only complication i've ever read about is infertility. which could be a good thing lol

most surgeons suggest getting it fixed. the problem is that they will just get bigger. the sooner you treat it, the less treatment you'll need. when it gets larger, it can certainly cause testicular pain and may prevent your testicle from producing sperm
