if u had to describe a sun rise to a person who has never seen one, how would u do it?

take a flashlight, and a ball.
completely cover the ball with the light of the flashlight.
Then slowly pull it up...showing the light up over the ball.
explain that the ball is the horizon, and the flashlight is the sun.

Beginning of a busy day for most of the people in that part of the earth and it is like illuminating a big ball-lamp at a distance in the night.

It's one of the most wonderful astronomical events. It's even better than a sunset. It's so beautiful - not only as an optical / physical observation with all the change of colors and light, it's more - it's like a song.
