There is a slot for a key at the bottom. Insert an allen wrench and turn to dislodge anything that is stuck. There is also a button that may need to be pressed to reset the electrical system.

Hi tere,

these other suggestions are right on target.
But.
If you cannot manually work it free, it is wise to turn off electricity to the unit and detach it from the sink mount and remove debris by hand.

Be sure to have floor protection down, a trash bag or other waterproof material.

A plastic hose connect will need to be unscrewed.
Next the metal bracket at the top needs to be unscrewed (by hand) from the sink mount.
Next the disposal is free, lower it to the ground and remove the rubber gasket from the top.
Turn the disposal upside down and bang the top of the unit against a towel or the covered/protected floor. This will dislodge food or debris.
Now try the allem wrench in the fitted slot at the bottom of the disposal. If it turns, you have removed the debris. If it does not yet turn, you have more work to do.

When the allem wrench in the fitting allows the unit to rotate freely, it is ready to be remounted and have water run through it.

Place the rubber gasket on top of the unit. Lift the unit into place. Screw on the metal bracket to the sink mount. When it is firmly in place, move the disposal so it aligns with the plastic waste tube. Screw the mount for the waste tube into the disposal. Turn the electricity back on to the unit. Turn on the faucet at full power. Turn on the disposal and allow to run for 1 minute.

Good luck

Follow CN's advice below but, let the water run slightly and wrench the allen back and forth gingerly while the water is running. If this don't do it or the thing is stuck there may be a bone in the blades between the housing, you may have to really have a "tug of war" with it to free it. This is the only way, keep trying.

Every few days run the water and drizzle a little liquid soap in the disposer and let it run to clean it.
