Not only did I get spanked with the belt, when I tried to avoid it, my parents would throw anything near them at me; phones, the remote, books! LOL! I look back at it and laugh now, but I think it changed me for the better. =)

more like beat-down....I got whipped with a belt that my parents used 2 call "Mr. Hankey" and if they couldn't find it, then i would get hit with w/e was within reach LOL!!

Yep, I got spanked. Usually with a switch. And we had to cut our own switches alot. That just plain sucked. What it taught me was pretty much not to get caught, to think things through and plan things out before I did them. I don't think it did me too much harm, really. I don't spank though.

Well, when I was growing up I WAS the remote and yes I got my butt busted on numerous occasions with anything from a belt to a ping pong paddle but the ultimate worse one was the damn blue hair brush of my mothers. She would bust our butts with it one minute and be fixing her sweet little innocent curls the next.

I've been spanked with the belt, hanger, thick slippers, and with the hand and sometimes my dad threw a pillow at me.

I was spanked (or smacked as we say in Australia).
I think it did me the world of good...though I'm sure there's people who won't agree.
I think it should be up to the parents...& there is a line between smacking/spanking & abuse.

Well, yeah I got spanked, but I didn't have the crap beaten out of me! It's only OK to spank if you don't do it too hard or to the point of abuse.

Yeah! Belt, mop, broom, name it. They don't have to now, though. It made me good too. Having to be scared of something makes us more human and not too full of ourselves. Still, it's been and always will be based on the context.
