Some people are just plain mean/bad, and it doesn't matter how cute/nice/well-behaved the kid is. Sad fact in our society. What's worse is that the kids who are abused often go on to abuse others, spreading the pattern. Sad indeed.

I dont think Michael Jackson was the only one of the children to be abused. The father was old school and believed in corporal punishment. Michael was a cute kid and certainly very talented but that's no guarantee that you wont be abused.
Joe Jackson had a good thing going with his very talented children and I dont think he tolerated a lot of disagreement.

Key word: Very talented.
Back in the 60s child abuse was worse than it is today. Michael came out during an interview about his father beating him though when questioned his father denies the acts. I honestly think that disciplining your child should be left to the parents. I've seen some spoiled brats in my day that would deserve a good one. One will never know about michael's acts as a child though. Maybe he was a cute brat as well. He turned out quite fine though later on, excluding the disease.

I really don't know what to say..I agree with u and I think that his father was a big @sshole for abusing Michael, that's why Michael is still a little kid..u know?He wants to do things he never did when he was a child and now when he sees kids suffering he wants to help em and unfortunately many ppl think that he likes little kids!!It sucks!Michael is real, when he talks about children he gets sensitive; When he hears about violence, wars and etc he is against all these terrible things and he has proved it many times,in his songs,in his speeches..as for the war in Iraq he was against it and he said the following words "We don't need war"!He said it to make ppl understand we can solve our problems without wars!Yeah...but who cares right?I think that Michael is like Martin Luther King: Make the world a better place so that everybody can live happily!

Maybe because his father was a alcoholic and the mother couldn't do or say anything to protect her children, not only that but his father kept them so sheltered as kids because they were so famous at young ages, and wanted to keep the wealth to himself for as long as he could. But Micheal will live on as a very talented musician for a very long time.

His father, Joe Jackson, abused all the kids. That is how he kept them in line. They never really had childhoods. He made them work all the time.

some parents think that you have to be hard on there kids.that want them to grow up right and make good decisions but they are going about the wrong way, plus if your parents bring you up like Micheal Jackson's father was bought up ,he think he was doing the right thing ,because that was the way his father brought him up.it's like a cycle

I think the dad wanted him to be perfect in his dancing. And he did not care whether he made MJ feel bad or not and he did not care also if he abused him as long as he got what he wanted from him which was perfection in dancing and music.you why do you think he was abused?

His father often hit him when he missed a step while danceing. MJ said that whenever he did a dance step wrong Joseph (his father) would whip him with a belt. Poor Mike.
