I my wife and I have had 3 kids so I have counted a lot of contractions, and her doctor told me to start counting from the beginning of one contraction to the beginning of the next.

And keep a paper, pen and watch handy and write the start and end time down and the start of the next. That way you know how long the contraction lasts and how far apart they are.

The contraction is finished when the "Pressure" stops. I don't know what that means but that's what my wife has always said.

Ok so when you think you're having regular contractions get a watch or find someone to help you like your husband/boyfriend/mother. When the contraction begins note the time and then when the contraction ends note the time. The difference in these numbers is how long the contractions are lasting. Write down the time the next contraction begins. The distance from the first contraction to the second contraction is how far apart your contractions are. Oh and you need to time a few contractions to check for regularity. I hope that helps some. :o)

Congrats.. Hope you have a nice smooth delievery!

Count the time in between contractions. When they start getting stronger and come more frequently, that is when you need to go to the hospital.

you should time them when they first start until they stop, this will tell you if you need to go to the hospital if they are 5min apart then you need to head to the hospital but if the hospital is far you might need to head out now.better to be safe having the baby at the hospital then in your car
