In my experience baby powder, baby rash paste, shampoos and lotions....the generic is just as good as the name brand. However a notice a little difference in baby wipes. I too buy Parent's Choice for the most part, but the times I have bought Huggies or Pampers wipes there is a noticable difference...they're thicker and you use less of them, BUT - when you weigh those things versus the price, I think you're still better off with Parent's Choice. Same situation with diapers, but the differences are a bit more apparent. Personally, I think Huggies really are the best diapers. But that's just been in my experience. I have a Dollar General store right down the road and I've tried almost all of their baby stuff and any of it works in a jiff. One thing I will recommend at Walmart is the Parent's Choice bottles, once the baby gets out of that stage where you are worried about gas or cholic, the Parent's Choice bottles are great. Almost 2 years ago when I had my son, Walmarts Parents Choice brand was the only one labeled BPA free and THEY WERE ALSO THE CHEAPEST! Now everything is labeled BPA free, but I think's its like 2.97 for 3 bottles. :) Long answer, sorry, hope it helps though, and congrats!

It depends on the product. Some items I choose brand, some generic. I used to work in retail, and I know for a fact that many generic products are made by the exact same company as the brand name ones. They just slap a different label on it for the store.

When I was younger my mother used to buy only a certain "brand" of cereal. One day, my dad did the shopping. Without us knowing about it at the time, he poured the generic into the brand name box. We did not discover the truth about which cereal we were actually eating, until the next time we all went shopping. And witnessed him putting the generic in the brand-name box.

From that day on, the family had more money; because we were not wasting it on higher priced items. So, that is the way I shop.

Price does not equal quality

It depends. Sometimes the brand is worth the extra money, sometimes now. Much of the extra cost is for advertising, which doesn't make the product any better. Also sometimes the generic and brand name are exactly the same product, just labeled differently.

It all depends on the item and which brands you compare. I've tried plenty of generic products that were just as good if not better than the brand name ones. I've also tried brand name stuff that was far better than the generic.

I use to work in a cheese factory and was in charge of single slices. Just let me tell you that some cheap brand cheese and exactly the same as name brand cheese...we just changed the outside wrapper. I can only imagine how many other places do that. I'll take the generic brand myself thank you.

Sometimes generic can be just as worth the brand name items, and you can get a larger amount, too. However, there's nothing better than a Hershey bar, Advil or a Cherry Coke.

It depends on the item, I do like to go for the brand name quality with a lot of things but sometimes I'll go for generic things like medicine, common household items, or coomon ingredients, sometimes there is no difference...like in food products like vinegar, milk, tomato sauce, ketchup, etc. It just depends on the certain thing I buy.

Brand foods I love it and I know it will kill me.
Generic generally has no chemicals in it. Brand foods carry many chemicles that are put there to get rid of them. Not the help you. It smell good, It taste good. It will kill you and you like it.
