Taiwan and China have been at it for over 50 years. For the last two decades, they dust off their sabers, rattle them at each other, then put them back and go on with normal trade, tourism, scientific and cultural exchanges. I suspect the saber rattling is done to appease the haters on both sides.

Taiwan was a province prior to the communists taking over, and I suspect, as China's economy and social structure changes that China will be reunited with Taiwan, not by force, but for economic reasons.

What most people know of China would fit in a thimble, what most people think they know would fit in a barrel.
