My friend lost 30 pounds very quickly with her first, then it slowed down with the next ten pounds from there on it got harder for her. i think she even gained five back, because she was very hungry from the breast feeding. it sounds like youre on a nice roll, good luck to you and the the new family hun! what did you name your baby?

The baby, amniotic fluid, extra blood, and water weight (basically the pregnancy itself) weigh between 25 and 30 lbs. So I'm sorry to tell you that you have pretty much just lost water and extra blood(pregnant women have 33% more blood than normal) as well as the weight of the baby and amniotic fluid. But you are doing everything right and the breastfeeding will burn 500 calories a day so remain optomistic!! In the following weeks you should take it easy and let breastfeeding be your only exercise. When you go back to exercising you will lose weight slightly faster than a normal dieter. The difference is the extra 500 calories from breastfeeding and the fact that you gained the weight recently so it is more willing to go away. Don't expect it to go away overnight. It took you nine months to put it on and it may well take 9 months to take it off. Don't restrict your diet to much or push yourself to hard as you need a certain amount to make breastmilk and you have just been through alot with giving birth. Good Luck

Why are you watching your calorie intake? You need to be eating 500 calories more to help produce breastmilk.
Some people lose it quick, other's take a while. Me...I'm one of the others. I had my son in November and I'm only down a little over 24lbs and I still have over 40lbs to go. I've been on Weight Watchers since December, so it's helped a lot. I did have a few months where my weight was going up and down and I got my thyroid levels checked. Everything was fine, I got back on track and been losing ever since.
I guess it all depends on your body and metabolism rate and yes, breastfeeding does help in weight loss. I don't know if it'll slow down for you, but good luck on the weight loss.

Congratulations on your baby! I hope I'm as lucky as you in the weight loss department! lol. It's quite possible that a good deal of the weight you gained was water weight, which will flush out very quickly, and then when it's gone your weight loss will slow down. But you're already almost halfway there! If you keep breastfeeding and eating sensibly, as well as exercising when you feel up to it, you'll lose the weight.
My friend, on the other hand, gained 60 lbs and lost 30 before her 6 week checkup, due to just birth and loss of water weight. Then she never lost another pound...a year later. But she didn't breastfeed or exercise, and she kept eating like a pregnant woman...lol...or more. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and she eats more than I do! Sorry to ramble on that story, just thought it was a compare and contrast sort of thing.

I think everyone is different. I lost 32 pounds in 2 weeks with my daughter and then only lost maybe a couple more pounds after that. I breastfed too! I started working from home so a few months later I had started gaining weight (snacking too much). So you're on the right track with eating healthy. It will slow down (probably faster than you would like). Good luck!

You lose the first 30 or so very quickly - it's the baby, the afterbirth, fluids (like lochia) etc. After this is gone, the weight loss will slow significantly. If you're nursing, it isn't safe to lose more than about 1.5 lbs per week. Anymore could interfere with milk supply, as well as release toxins into your milk which are then passed on to baby.
I know you hate hearing this, but it took 9 months to put it on, give yourself at least that long to take it off.

Hello, Sweetie first of all don't stress out , i have sister of your age. And a ma tell you what i told her from my own experience. Cut the soda completely, pizza, pasta and all of the junk food. i know it will be hard for you in start but you have to be positive and think positive to achieve your goal. Drink lots and lots of water. Eating 3 meals a day in big portion is not very good, as eating 5 small portions a day is recommended and is advised by health professionals and doctors too. Eat lots of green veggies and fruits, cerial and oatmeal, take wheat bread. And WALK with your Friends or siblings. Sleep @ least 8 hours. Keep doing these things and don't believe in taking any diet pills or diet supplements or shakes. Those things are not good for you and has many side effects. Best of Girl.

My baby is almost exactly 4 weeks old on Thursday. I'ev already lost all my baby weight plus 8 pounds! I had to be on a strict diet during the pregnancy due to diabetes so I didn't gain any extra weight and in fact am healthier and thinner now than before I got pregnant. Plus, I'm breastfeeding which makes you lose extra weight too. They told me it takes a total of 6 weeks to lose all of the "pregnancy" weight and any extra fat you gained will be what is left over. If you continue to eat healthy and breastfeed, I'm sure you'll be back down to your pre pregnancy weight before you know it. Especially if you had any swelling in your pregnancy...that takes a few weeks to completely go away. It took 2 full weeks before my ankles were back to their normal size. Plus, you have to account for the fact that you are still bleeding and your uterus is still shrinking. Good luck and you'll be back to normal before you know it!
How are you enjoying your little man? Isn't is wonderful being a mother??

unfortunately you probably wont lose it that fast. i also gained close to 60 lbs and within the first 2 weeks i lost about 30 lbs... then it slowed way down. my son is 10 months old and i have about 15 lbs more to go... but its not easy. i eat pretty good and do moderate cardio excercise and the weight just is NOT coming off. but maybe you'll be one of the luckier ones!
