I don't. When I'm in the wrong, I'll own up to it as soon as I realize that I've made a mistake. I have found that owning up to your mistakes and apologizeing right away makes people like and respect you all the more. Most folks realize that we are ALL human and make mistakes. When we own up to them people are more ready to forgive you and accept you back as a friend.

As an aside, When pulled over for a minor traffic violation, I have found that if you tell the officer that you committed the violation and admit to not paying attention, they are MOR likely to treat you nicely. It's the belligerant ones who wind up with all the tickets and hefty fines.

BE nice to the cops. Look at it this way, anyone who's willing to lay down their lives to save your sorry butt is not ONLY a friend, they are your BEST friends. Why treat your friends like dirt? Even if they ARE costing you a few bucks by giving you a ticket, they ARE trying to save you from killing yourself by driving foolishly.

Thank you Rae, for being willing to look out for the REST of us fools. I know you don't hear this CLOSE to often enough, but it IS appreciated. *hugs, girl*

I think there are two different resonings.

One, some people are sociopathic. They are without conscience and they truly believe in their head that whatever they do is just fine. They aren't wrong in their own mind.

Two, people will lie like a rug to save their own skin if the punishment is bad enough. I believe people can convince themselves of their own innocence in order to try and save their bacon.

I think it takes a better person to ad mitt your wrong than to let your pride get in the way, it takes a strong and honest person to admit they are wrong, i bet it would really make you mad if you was right but nobody would budge, they just kept saying they were right,, knowing they was actually wrong.

Because you are weak, and cannot admit your mistakes to yourself let alone anyone else, worse still you blame everyone else for your mistakes. When you can admit your mistakes and learn from them to take responsibility for your own life you become much stronger.
