I have lots of lettuce coming up in our garden, I was just wondering if there was a way to keep it, by freezing it or something. I have never heard of freezing lettuce, but is it possible without it going bad?? Please help I have too much to eat ourselves right now!?

Is it better to just leave it in the garden till we need it?

I have no problem sharing, I just wanted to know if we could save it so later in the year we could have some.

give it to the neighbors, eat as much as you can, maybe a local food bank would like some and give you reciept for the donation, next year try some spinach and kale, they freeze nicely. And a fresh spinach salad might put you off lettuce.

Naw - its got far too high a water content sadly.

Best thing - give it away to friends and neighbours! And next year plant your seeds a few days apart so you don't get all the lettuce at the same time!

You really can't do anything to save it. Why don't you give the excess to neighbors or a local charity that provides meals for folks who need them?
