19 years later his hair is receding, he's married, and he has a son named Scorpius. No joke, it's in the epilogue. As is Ron telling his and Hermione's daughter to beat him in every test they have in their first year at school.

He doesn't die to start. He starts as Voldemort's death eater, but, although somewhat rudely, he accepts Harry's help, when he was almost killed, twice. In the end it tells of him having a wife and son, named Scorpius.
