I Have a Dell Optiplex, and the resoultion is at 680 x 420, or something, but I can't change it to a better one like 1028 x 780, or whatever. It was working before, but then I formated my hard drive, and now i can't change it, whats wrong and how do I fix it?

Most likely you just need to reinstall the driver for your moniter and/or video card. Do you still have the driver CD that came with your Dell? If so, reinstall it from there. Or if that doesn't work, you could give me the model numbers for your moniter and video card, and I can provide a link to the correct driver(s) for you. :)

in the program your running in full screen in options there will be options to select your screen resolution select the same 1 as the 1 windows is using it would be your monitor but since its fixed when windows gets to the welcome screen I wouldn't worry about it bios and everything uses very basic and crappy resolution until windows get loaded and then the windows settings are applied so don't worry about it

What does it do when you try to change it? You should at LEAST be able to get 1024x768.

If it doesn't even give you the option to go higher, then you need to make sure that you have the right video drivers.

Right-click your desktop, select "Properties", click the "Settings" tab, and slide the little ruler-thing to the right a little.
