i think you should just wait till he wakes up. they say let a sleeping baby lie. now don't let him go for 6-8 hours without eating if he's a newborn. he will wake when he is hungry and catch up later. he may be going through a growth spurt. this also may encurage feedings at night time. go with your instinct but this is what i did. best wishes and congrats.

I have a three month old and haven't ever done this with my daughter. I've always figured that she will eat when she is hungry - some days she eats more than others and thats fine... i don't eat the same food portion everyday so seems perfectly normal that she will want different amounts from time to time.

Unless your baby is really underweight and has to be force-fed i would recommend to just feed on demand - of course thats just my personal belief - i'm not a doctor or anything.

Good luck.

my mom merely had a splash one and her ordinary is somewhat good because well-known, waking up is the appropriate time, he luaghs and smiles for all time.besides, my mom feeds him before he is going to sleep. and by utilising the way, toddlers at the instant are not prograamed to coo or to cry, its differnt for anyone. the 1st time my brother cried became while he became 3 months old (first and easily time so some distance) and my mothers pal's infant cries 24-7. the baby feels you, if ur mad or pissed off , so is the baby have confidence me on that. be style and loving no remember what they do, they're merely helpless toddlers.they want all the atention which you have and extra. besides ,attempt feeding before sleep

If they are hungry they will wake up. Force feeding babies is a good way to have an obese child later. Feeding on demand is better. Babies don't normally eat unless hungry, and this is the best thing for them. With my almost 3 year-old son, I will let him pick when he wants to eat so he doesn't feel like he HAS to.

I had a preemie baby...actually two of them. The doctor told me to tap the bottom of the baby's feet or rub the bottom of their feet to keep the baby awake long enough to feed. I had to feed my babies every 2 hours at least two ounces, and it was extremely hard to keep the babies awake while feeding them. Just let it go for the night...he's out, so just try keeping him awake next time. The joy of parenting...isn't it fun?? :)

don't prop a bottle in a baby's mouth- imagine sleeping with food in your mouth..he could choke, and as impossible as it may seem babies can drown in as little as a tsp (or tbs) of liquid(yes it has to be placed just so but he is a baby and he can't get away from suffocation dangers...) plus- you should wash his teeth/ gums after his last feeding to prevent decay...wake him if you have to, or just let him wake when he is ready...

I wouldn't feed a sleeping baby. Just wait until he wakes up.

He will eat when he wants to.
No sense in giving it to him if he is done.
That's force feeding.
You will know when he wants it.
Never did that with my 4 kids they let you know when they want it.
