In particular the democracy favoured by the US,the kind that is rammed down the throats of everybody else in a vain attempt to win 'hearts and minds'.

The definition of 'good guys' from Matt D really depends on which side of the fence you sit on.. I did not profess to be a good student, only a curios one... the 'Good Guys' as Matt D informs are the same ones that trained the Taleban, allowed a soft drinks corporation to dictate foreign policy, oh and thought it a laugh to toss infants onto bayonets (Mai Lai)... Good guys aka World Police ... we neither need nor want this kind of "freedom"

The US doesn't really practice democracy any more.

But yes, depending on how the next couple decades go, it's quite possible that the US policy of intruding (with force) may end up being compared to the Nazi invasions of Europe.

Particularly if we continue the increased loss of civil liberties that this country has been heading towards,

I don't think so. While I agree with your "forced" sentiment, the beauty of a democracy is that this unpopular (and incorrect agenda in my mind) will die off with the exit of this group of leaders. I have faith that the President and leaders that follow will not follow Bush's ignorant attempts at forcing democracy on the rest of the world.

Democracy has proved, historically, that it is the most accepting and flexible form of government available to society. Nazism, on the other hand, was exlusionary, extremist, and full of hate. Do not confuse one person's misguided agenda with a flawed system of government.

Also, democracy is currently better implemented outside of the U.S. and is unlikely to go away due to one poor leader's decisions.

What you are describing isn't Democracy but imperialism. Unfortunately, people around the world will associate imperialism with being Democracy as a result of our ramming our version of what the U.S imperialists think their democracy should be down their throats. Ironically, spreading freedom by force is not freedom at all.

No. You are a very poor student of history.

The Nazis favored a master race and didnt mind exterminating people to make way for it. They were totalitarians and very extreme at that. They were ultimately defeated by western allied forces that are for freedom and liberty.

The US and sorta Europe fights for liberty and freedom against tyranny.

So who are the good guys if we arent? Communists? Imperialists? Nazis themselves? Those are all the types of threats we've faced before and defeated in our nations history.

No because democracy is not an ideology unto itself. It is a means. Nazism was the ends.

No. But Islamofacism might be viewed as the Nazism of the 21st century.

democracy comes from the will of the people to educate themselves in national events. It doesn't help that Fox news gives us propaganda and other bullshit threats. When people will let the govt do anything and think it's patriotic to just back the president...that's what's ******* up this nation. That's not patriotic, that's nationalism....which is the closest to nazism.
FIND THE TRUTH...DON'T LET THE GOVT BULLSHIT YOU WITH PROPAGANDA.

You mean the spread of "freedom" by force? Very sad that in order to preserve our way of life, our elected leaders believe we have to end another. Though I don't condone radical religious terrorism, I also do not condone radical religious (God told him to) corporatism.

Lovely, no?

If you don't like democracy why don't you go live in China, Russia, North Korea, or Cuba where you won't even have the choice of criticizing ANYTHING?
