Hoover have improved a lot in the past few years because they had to. Both Hoover and Hotpoint came bottom in the 'Which' surveys. Currys are not a good shop to buy from either. If it goes wrong they won't want to know.
If I were buying something like that, I would look at John Lewis. There own brand washing machines have excellent reputations, and they are reasonably priced. Buy online and they will deliver and fit.
I have an LG direct drive. It cost £600 and works very well. It is 5 years old now and has never gone wrong. Can be a bit noisy on max 1600rpm spin with heavy towels in, but normally, you can't hear it.
Bosch are good, Miele, AEG, and Siemens all excellent but can cost £700 upwards.

I have a Hoover washing machine.I got mine from Argos for around £220, on special offer, in 2004. They will deliver, and the machine is easy to install.I use it once a week, and also live alone with no children.
Clean the powder dispenser tray every so often, and the filter at the bottom of the machine (the instruction book will show you).
Also, the 32min speed wash programme is ideal for cleaning sheets, pillow cases, and quilt covers. Other programmes use as necessary - I normally use 5 for mixed fabrics, and Ariel apple scented washing powder.

Hi there, we had a Hoover washer drier for about 5 years it was very reliable i think we only had engineers out once.
Washer/driers carry a lot more parts to go wrong so am speaking from past experience.
We now have a Hotpoint--load of rubbish engineers have been out 5 times in 2yrs, and its still noisy
Would consider a hoover again in future sensible pricing.

everybody will tell you there washers is the best but i find all washers do the job but i find that if a washer does break down hoover and hotpoint are easier to get parts for and the cheapest for parts it's up to you

Always had a Zanussi.
They have each lasted over 10 years and the first two saw us through boiling orignal cotton nappies, kiddies and teenagers- with no effort at all.
Very reliable.

Mine is 3 years old now and I haven't had a problem. I think it was worth the price.
Oh...I got mine from Argos. You might save a few pennies there.
