Have these two criminals shown nothing but contempt towards the United States and her People? Honestly.

The Supreme Court came close with the Korematsu decision -- upholding the detention of Japanese-Americans on the west coast based solely on their race.

But it's a pretty even match for worst damage with the current Bush regime.

Well I was going to say Abraham Lincoln, but that's been said. However much of what he did in order to win the Civil War was as bad or worse than anything Bush has done. In fact if you view Bush as some sort of tyrant,I would have to say you would have thought Lincoln was just downright evil. Funny thing is Bush has really done nothing that actually harms or hinders the lives of any average American,in fact never in history have Americans sacrificed less during time of war. But yet everyone seems to think he's coming after them,I suppose that's what happens when people are judging history when their historical point of reference goes all the way back to the "Clinton Years"

Well there was Lincoln who suspended the Habeas Corpus jailed war protesters, shutdown hundreds of newspapers that disagreed with his war, instituted firearm restrictions, and sent troops to declare martial law in state's like Maryland. He also used the war to push through the "American System", a program of de facto nationalization of the transportation industry via massive subsidies to corporations that would agree to build "internal improvement" railroads, waterways, and canals. The Constitution pretty much went out the window during his administration, much like with the Bush Administration. So, the current erosion on the Constitution and Bill of Rights is not without precedent.

The fact that you ask this question shows that you know absolutely nothing about the US constitution. Don't worry if Bush or Cheney did anything remotely close to what you accuse them of Reid and Pelosi would have articles of impeachment drawn up faster than you can say Cindy Sheehan.

Actually FDR took great liberties in twisting the constitution to try to get us out of the great depression. All of his social policies failed and the great depression lasted well into WWII. It was only after the restoration of free market values that ended the depression. FDR did irrepairable damage to the Constitution and his precedence and the effects of his policies are still being felt today.

Clinton signed laws to forbid militias, essentially criminalizing a portion of the pro-gun crowd, and also signed into law the Lautenberg Amendment, basically, putting a lifetime gun ownership ban on anyone convicted of a misdemeanor charge of family violence. He probably did this to put gun ownership into the same context as wife beating, therebye further ostracizing gun owners.

I'd say that with Clinton in office, and especially if his wife gets elected president, the Constitution dies a little bit year by year.
