My great-nephew was born at 25 weeks, and he had a heart monitor on for the first 2 years of his life. He is now healthy and he doesn't have any problems, he is 17 or 18 years old now. My mother was 29 or 30 weeks and no problems.

She was 21 weeks 6 days Actually. I just read an article in People magazine about her. She is getting fat. I just hope that she doesn't have any problems. Being born that early can cause all kinds of medical problems, some of which can't be determined until they are older. My son was born at 29 weeks and he will be 3 on Aug 10th, and he is smart as a whip. My husband and I lost a baby girl at 21 weeks the day after his birthday last year and we didn't even have the doctors try to do anything because their bodies are just too under-developed, and it would not have been fair to her to have her live her life with all kinds of medical problems.

My fiance was born at 34 weeks and I think he was around 4-5 pounds. His younger brother was born at 28 weeks (if I'm remembering correctly) and only weighed 2 pounds. He fit completely in the palm of his mother's and father's hand. Both are now strong and healthy (well, they don't have any problems directly related to being born early at least).

I think it was 22 weeks...a baby the size of an ink pen...I don't think it even weighed a pound...try googling the phrase 'baby the size of an ink pen' or maybe 'worlds smallest baby' I remember reading about the baby going home several months ago...I think it was a girl.

I don't know. All I can tell you is my first was born at 33 wks. He was in the hospital for 1 wk. He was big & healthy for being born that early - 5lbs. 10oz. 18 1/2".

23 weeks...14 ounces...and she is like 1 and a half or 2 now...this very rarely is the case though...usually at 23 weeks the babys lungs and other organs haven't completely formed and this usually results in the death of the baby.
