I can't think of the name, and I know it is in another great movie but i just can't think of what it is, help!

...the pop song you're talking about, is called "Bit by Bit", sung by Stephanie Mills, and composed by Harold Faltermeyer, the one who composed the hit '80's instrumental, "Axel F", for the "Beverly Hills Cop" soundtrack.

The soundtrack for "Fletch" indicated that "Bit by Bit" was alternately titled "Theme from Fletch", so I think it was written exclusively for this film; if it WAS used in another movie, it might have been heard in the 1989 Fletch sequel, entitled "Fletch Lives"
