Okay. You don't need a casting agent.
You need a talent agent.

Casting Directors hold auditions that talent agents send you on.
However, If you don't know that, you don't need a talent agent yet.
Work hard another year, then go looking.

Start with a Ross Report- it will list the franchised agents in NY and NJ (as well as other states) that you can submit a headshot and resume to.

So, in the meantime, audition like mad locally, do some community theatre and act in your school shows and then look for an agent next year. No sense wasting your or their time if you don't have a headshot or resume yet- they Won't take you on.

What makes you think you are ready for an agent? Have you any idea how to approach one? Do you know what questions they are going to ask you? Have you got a good resume and headshot? Agents are not just sitting there waiting for clients. Clients are bombarding agents with requests for representation. It isn't easy to get an agent.

Why didn't you just look in the phone book or on the web?

Talent Agents tell the actor what to do, the Talent Agent is the professional, and does NOT listen to you, the client.

If you want to act, you must learn that the Agent is the boss . . . NOT YOU.

If the agent says that you are more suited for commercials or community Community Theater, that's what you do!

The agent is the boss, not you.
