dealership says its a short or bad ground... went through all the wiring... and cant make it reoccur or find the problem.. any ideas harley people??

Is the bike tripping a code, ask the dealership to run pinpoint diagnosis on the bike with digiltech. I know that I'm talking Greek but just ask them the question and see what kind of look you get out of them. I've had bikes with intermittent problems and this was the only way I could find it.

I had a problem once with a tail light being intermittent.
I used an ohm meter on each end of the wire, and wiggling/twisting the wire revealed that there was a break in the wire, even though the insulation looked fine.

if it won't duplicate, could have been condensation in the gas tank, trash, gremlins of any kind, ride and be well, sounds like a transient problem that cured itself.

Try an oil change,and clean the pistons and tranny fluid.
