I would have to see it...but linoleum is often associated with tacky. But, what you can do... Make it dark near the dance floor with lights near the ground pointing upwards. The floor will be invisible. It won't be obvious you're trying to hide the floor, it actually creates neat mood lighting. Add twinkly lights and/or decorations above to further draw the eye upwards.

It does sound hideous. Try to convince her to get wood floors instead. It will be easy to clean like linoleum, but it will look a lot better.

I put wood looking tile in my bedrooms and it looks good,always shiny and very easy to keep up. Your Grandmother is probably looking for something that is easy to clean. Just go but a big area rug, and problem solved!

go for hardwood....if u have the choice that is.
but i think if i had linoleum floors i'd wear socks and slide on the floors alot.... omg...i think thats the "silver lining" heheh.
