I let them continue on, and I just wonder about the reasons why this person would lie to me. More often than not, I see that they are feeling insecure, and I try to put them at ease, so that they don't feel like they have to impress me or something.

It depends on the lie. If the lie was designed to hurt someone, then yes, I'll call them on it. But, if it's just something that makes them feel better, then no, I don't bother. After all, they have to feel pretty bad to lie about it in the first place. :)

Depending on what the lie is, I used to have a neighbor who used to lie all the time. It was only small lies but got to much in the end and I told her partner and her to go away. He knew she lied and didn't care! If it's a big one than yeah I will call them out!

Depends on who it is. My husband or kids, I will call them out. Sometimes, I will ask my friends about it, but if I don't know someone I will just sit back and let them keep on. But at least I know how they are. Just reading this, it really seems like I know alot of liars. Maybe I need to meet more people.

Depending. If they lied for what I think was a good reason then I let them continue on.. mainly I dont want to embarress them.. But if its something dumb then if no one else is around I call them on it.

it depends on the person and situation
my favorite is when someone tell me some info they came into by some dramatice course fo events that's supposed to be a secret and make me promise not to say anything- When it's really something I told them - I love calling people out on that

Let them continue for a while and then call them on it. The more they elaborate, the more stupid they look when they're caught.

I let em dig deeper. I make a mental note, that this person is not worthy of my company and I pretty much never want to talk to them again...but of course I do but I dont pay much attention to what they say. Its as if I were talking to a drunk...yeah I pay soooo much attention to them.

Normally I'll call them out. But one woman I used to work with had stories so far-fetched they were actually entertaining. Like one time she told me her uncle was extremely mad at her...I asked her why...she said because she wouldn't sell him her coin...I asked 'what coin?'....she said she had a "Rare Peruvian coin with only seven in known existance". She had one, he had the other six....she caused the set to be broken up and therefore made his less valuable. She was a daily entertainment tabloid.
