Every computer monitor has something that is called a native resolution. If you have a very large native resolution and you set your graphics card to display a smaller resolution than you end up with images that look enlarged and blurry or pixelated.

I would look up the specifications for your specific computer monitor on the internet and see if you can find what the native resolution is. Simply set your resolution to what the spec suggests and you will end up with the most optimal viewing mode.

None of the resolutions should be blurry. You might need to increase your monitor refresh rate after you switch resolutions.

There is a way to change the size of your icons so you can go into 800x600 mode without making things huge, but you usually want to be in the highest resolution that you feel comfortable at.
