Nope. Any halfway decent lawyer can get him out of it. A minor may not enter a legal agreement.

What kind of health club takes a contract from a minor without parental consent?
If I were the kids parents, I'd go right down there to ask why they even allowed my kid in a potentially dangerous place like that in the first place, let alone enticing him into signing a contract.
They should consider themselves very lucky if all they have to do is apologize and tear up the contract.

No a minor is not an adult therefore they can not enter in to any legal or binding contract with out parental consent. Even the military needs parental consent for a 17 year to enlist so I am sure a health club does as well.

You cannot contract with a minor. The health club is out of luck. Get a lawyer.

No.
A minor cannot make a contract. Only adults can.
The Health Club shouldn't have accepted it, it is not legal or binding...they have no legal path to collect from you because you are a minor child.

Anyone under 18 can sign a contract, but the contract is voidable. If you do any damages under the contract you're liable to pay for them(like lying about your age and buying a car, then returning it with a broken tail light, you'd have to pay for the tail light, but you can opt out of the deal.) Once you turn 18, and still work under the contract, you cannot change your mind.

Did you sign the contract and say (lie) that you were 18 or older? Are you 18 now? Things to think about since you will probably be in court soon.

The minor can disavow while still a minor. But if the minor makes continues after 18, that affirms the contract and it cannot be retroactively disavowed.
